Copy form fields adobe

I'm not able to replicate this issue. It works fine on my computer. In Position properties for the form fields, is Locked turned on?

Are you in Form Editing mode by clicking the Prepare Form icon? Hi, I'm having this issue and it's incredibly frustrating. In both documents I have Prepare Form activated, but the form fields simply don't copy or paste, no matter if I use keyboard shortcuts, right-clicking the mouse, or using the Edit menu.

Please help! Hi, anniem Were you ever able to get this working again? I'm having the same probem. I think my problem was that the form field I had copied had the same exact name as another form field on the page I was pasting onto. So, I was trying to copy a field called Text 1 from page 1, let's say onto page 2. But page 2 already had its own Text 1, so the paste would never go through. So I've been renaming fields with this in mind, and it's been smooth sailing so far.

I am having this same issue now but did not have the issue four months ago when I did this for my end of the year documents. I have checked to see if the fields are locked and they are not. Thomas Gibson. I was able to resolve this issue.

The problem was that the page display mode was showing more than one page at a time and Acrobat will not let you copy form fields from more than one page at a time. When I changed the view to single page I was able to capture all of the fields and paste them into another document.

Replace is not an option. Copies of the original bar coded document must be archived and available for audit. The bar code is part of the original multi-page form and is not editable and it is not practical to copy the bar codes because each page is bar coded with a sequential number. Right-click the form field and choose Create Multiple Copies.

In the Create Multiple Copies Of Fields dialog box, select Preview , and move the dialog box as needed so that you can see the original field and the copies on the form page. To change the dimensions of the original field and all the copies, enter different values in the Change Width and Change Height options.

To move the original field and all the copies, click the Up , Down , Left , and Right buttons. To duplicate the form field on every page in the form, select All , and click OK. To duplicate the form field on a limited range of pages, click the From button, and type the start and ending pages on which you want the form field to appear. Then click OK. Selecting multiple form fields is the first step for several tasks, such as creating copies, aligning form fields, and adjusting the spacing between form fields.

To select a range of form fields, click the first form field in the range, and then Shift-click the last form field. All form fields between the two form fields are selected. To select all form fields in an area of the page, use the Select Object tool to drag a selection marquee around the area. The field that is highlighted in dark blue and displays the border handles is the anchor.

When you select multiple form fields by clicking, the last field selected is the anchor. When you use a marquee, the form field that was created first is the anchor. If you Ctrl-click to deselect the anchor, the form field located in the upper left of the selection becomes the new anchor form field. After you create form fields, you can rearrange, resize, or move them to give the page a cleaner, more professional look. To resize the field manually, drag a border handle.

Hold Shift and drag a corner handle to maintain the current aspect ratio of the form field. To resize to a specific dimension, right-click the field and choose Properties. Then click the Position tab, and adjust the Width and Height values. You can also right-click the form field that you want the other selected form fields to match. You can move form fields by simply dragging them. For greater precision in less time, you can use special features that align them with each other, adjust the spacing between them, and center them on the page.

Tip : To constrain movement to a horizontal or vertical direction, begin dragging, and then press Shift while continuing to drag the selection. To move to a specific location, right-click the field and choose Properties. Then click the Position tab, and set the Position values. To move either horizontally or vertically in small increments, press the arrow keys to nudge the selected form field into position.

Additional pasted fields are offset from the previously pasted field. You can also right-click the field to which you want to align the other fields. Choose Align , Distribute Or Center , and then choose a command as follows:. To align a column of fields, choose Align Left, Right, or Vertical. They align respectively to the left edge, right edge, or vertical axis center of the anchor form field.

If you copy a button, text field, or link to a page that has a different orientation from the page on which it was created, the element aligns with the original orientation, appearing sideways and on the wrong portion of the page. You might also see unexpected form and text field orientation if you replace a page in a PDF file with a page whose orientation is different from the original page's orientation.

The different orientation information can come from the application in which the PDF file was created or from a rotation applied to the page in Acrobat. For example, when you create a button on the lower left corner of a PDF page, and you duplicate the button onto other pages of the PDF file, it appears on the lower left corner of each page. However, if the page onto which you copy the button is rotated, the button will appear in what was the lower left corner before the rotation.

If this page is rotated 90 degrees clockwise from portrait to landscape, the button appears on the upper left corner of the page, because that was the bottom left prior to rotation.
