My bad Think I found my problem. Took wifi antenna out of rear USB 2. I suspect that there must be some form of interference at back causing the drop. Any ideas where can I get one of them gadgets that you wrap your USB cable through to reduce inteference? Spidey New Member.

I have plugged in everything as I should have, but my the modem's DSL light only flashes briefly when I switch the modem on and then stays off. Should the light not be flashing as it tries to sunc the adsl which is not there yet? The thing also makes a whirring noise when switched on, especially when the wireless light comes on, about 10 or so seconds after initial switch on?
Do i have a dudd here? No idea what's making the noise though. Is your line activated at all? Should the light be blinking or not?
